ONLINE SERVICE ASIC EDGE

ONLINE SERVICE ASIC EDGE

ASIC facilitates access to data for software providers through their wholesale network known as EDGE.
EDGE offers significant advantages, providing direct access to ASIC’s register information for high-volume lodgers such as accountants or legal firms.

What data is available through EDGE?

Registered ASIC Agents with EDGE credentials can access company register information for free through approved EDGE software providers.

The most valuable information accessible includes registered company details, including registered and business addresses, officeholder details (names, addresses, birth information, and roles), and shareholder information (name, address, shares held), which can be accessed at any time from ASIC.

Additionally, data such as Company Debt Reports (RA63) and Review Date Reports (RA61) are available through EDGE software.

What documents can be
lodged using EDGE?

An extensive range of documents can be electronically lodged with ASIC via approved EDGE software providers.

To register a new company, the Form 201 is completed and sent to ASIC, marking the establishment process and the initial stage of its lifecycle.

Subsequently, various forms can be lodged, including:

  • Change of Company Name (Form 205)
  • Cessation of ASIC Agent (Form 361)
  • Appointment of ASIC Agent (Form 362)
  • Changes to Company Details (Form 484)
  • Voluntary Deregistration (Form 6010)

How can one join EDGE?

The process to join EDGE can be intricate and time-consuming without consistent follow-up with ASIC.
To access EDGE:

1.
Be a registered ASIC agent or complete Form RA01 if not.

2.
Read ASIC's Electronic Lodgement Protocol and complete the EDGE Participation Agreement.

3.
Submit the application to ASIC via email or post.

4.
Sign up for EDGE compliant software.

5.
Download company records onto your EDGE software.

Waive assists in managing the entire process, liaising with ASIC to ensure timely receipt of details. Company records are automatically downloaded into Waive via EDGE upon account creation, typically within a few hours.
There are no application fees to become an ASIC agent or apply for EDGE.

How can EDGE be used?

EDGE software typically provides instructions on document lodgment and record maintenance. It’s primarily designed for staff of registered ASIC lodgement agents to electronically submit documents required by the Corporations Act 2001.

Agents are responsible for maintaining complete and accurate company registers, utilizing the EDGE platform to securely transmit data to and from ASIC.

In some cases, ASIC may require payment for services such as Company Registrations (Form 201) and Voluntary Deregistration (Form 6010), which can be facilitated through direct debit arrangements set up by EDGE providers.

How can Waive assist with ASIC EDGE?

Waive offers complimentary assistance in onboarding new ASIC agents and those without EDGE credentials, facilitating the application process to ensure a seamless experience.
Upon submission of the EDGE participation form to Waive, the form is lodged with ASIC on behalf of the client, with credentials typically issued within 5-10 business days via email.
Once approved, Waive automatically downloads company records from ASIC into the client’s portal, streamlining the manual entry process.
